Defensive Duellist is a reaction obtainable by a feat of the same name. If you are attacked while wielding a Finesse Weapon weapon, you can temporarily increases your Armour Class. You must have at least a 13 in Dexterity in order to take this Feat.
Description
When attacked with a melee attack, add your Proficiency Bonus to your Armour Class, possibly causing attacks to miss.
Requires a Finesse Weapon you are Proficient in.

- Though not explicitly stated, the weapon equipped in the main hand is required to have the Finesse property.
- Defensive Duellist only triggers when it is capable of turning a melee attack hit into a miss.
- Defensive Duelist does not change the user's Armour Class. Instead, it subtracts the user's Proficiency Bonus from the enemy's attack roll.
Bugs
- Unlike similar reactions (Shield Master: Block), the icon for Defensive Duellist in the reactions tab does not "gray out" when the reaction is unavailable due to an incompatible equipped weapon.
