Notes

  • Despite its description, this condition has no effect on ranged attacks against the threatening creature. There is a separate hidden effect which grants DisadvantageDisadvantage to all ranged attacks within 3 m / 10 ft of the attacker, including elevation, measured from the centre of the attacker to the target (ie "Target is too close").
    • Because of how this effect is implemented, it is possible for a target to be within an aura with a range of 3 m / 10 ft (such as Aura of MurderAura of Murder) while not being close enough to grant disadvantage on ranged attacks. This is because the aura's effects account for the size of a creature's hitbox, rather than measuring the distance to their centre.
