The Brand of the Absolute is an optional permanent bonus that leads to unique dialogue options and powerful item interactions.
Appearance
The brand is a combination of the symbols of each of the Dead Three: the black hand of Bane, the bloody skull of Bhaal, and the triangle-inset skull of Myrkul.
Becoming Branded
A character may become branded by speaking to Gut in the Shattered Sanctum. After branding you, she will attempt to mentally connect to your parasite and ask you to join her in her private chapel. After this conversation, Gut will no longer offer to brand additional characters, but any number of party members may receive the brand by switching the active character and speaking to Warlock Greez.
Becoming branded has the following consequences:
- A one-time disapproval from some Companions.
- "Branded" appears in the Tags section of the character's Detailed View
- "Branded" Dialogue options:
- Brakkal will recognize the brand and subsequently refuse to talk to the branded character.
- Gekh Coal will back down without a dialogue check at the Decrepit Village in the Underdark.
- Corsair Greymon will back down without a dialogue check on the skiff in the Underdark.
