A gnomish adventurer used this once to outpace his enemies down a slope.

• One of several references to the gnome adventurer Lupperdiddle Swires. Others appear in the descriptions of the Potion of Glorious Vaulting, Arsonist's Oil and Swiresy Shoes. "Swires" is a reference to the Discworld books.
