Cruel Sting

From bg3.wiki
Revision as of 18:47, 22 December 2023 by Bobdodo (talk | contribs) (Removed the 1d6 psychic damage as extra damage from the weapon's stats and reworked the note to explain that the damage comes from the Spindleweb fanatiscism buff.)
Cruel Sting image

Cruel Sting is a rare, lightly enchanted (+1) special variant of the Longswords family of weapons. It is a martial melee weapon that can be wielded in one hand, or with both hands for extra damage.

Description Icon.png

The trauma of becoming a drider is quickly set aside with a cold arachnid dispassion. This sword follows that disturbing trend - a replenishing poison gland is built within, deployed only against trapped opponents.

Notes

  • When this sword is first looted from Kar'niss it is listed as dealing an additional 1d6 Damage TypesPsychic damage, however this is due to a bug that causes the weapon to retain the Spindleweb Fanaticism (Granting 1d6 Damage TypesPsychic damage to him and his allies) effect from Kar'niss. This extra damage is removed if the player completes a Long Rest or applies Elemental Weapon to the weapon.
  • Shapeshifting or disguising as a drow is sufficient to trigger Sting the Helpless
