Banishing Smite is a level 5 abjuration spell. It allows spellcasters to imbue their weapon with power, dealing force damage and possibly  Banishing the target.

Targets with 50 Hit Points or more can't be Banished.

How to learn

Classes:

• Class level 9: The Hexblade
• Class level 10: Bard (via Magical Secrets)

Notes

• This spell can only be learned by Hexblade warlocks or bards (via Magical Secrets) despite being a paladin spell in D&D 5e, as paladins do not get access to level 5 spells until level 17 in D&D 5e.
• There is no saving throw for any aspect of this spell.
• If the target is left with 1-49 Hit Points after the damage from the smite is applied, it is  Banished for 2 turns.

Bugs

• Banishing Smite (Ranged) cast at level 6 incorrectly spends a level 5 spell slot.
