Veil of the Weird is a cantrip (Illusion). It is an unique spell only available during the Confront the Elder Brain quest which allows the caster to apply Greater Invisibility Greater Invisibility on up to five creatures.

Description

Channel Auntie Ethel's hag magic to render 5 creatures within range Invisible.

Available only in combat.
The caster can only use this feature once in their adventure.

  • Entity has Advantage Icon.png Advantage on Attack rolls. Attack Rolls against it have Disadvantage Icon.png Disadvantage
  • When interacting with items, casting spells, or attacking, the entity needs to succeed on a Stealth Check to maintain Invisibility. The Check becomes harder with each successful attempt.

Notes

  • Unlike other Gather Your Allies Gather Your Allies abilities, this is actually classified as a spell. This has a number of implications:
    • Numerous enemies in the finale have Counterspell Counterspell including The Emperor The Emperor and Spellplague Spellplague and will counterspell this action if possible. If this happens, the action will not be used up and can be attempted again.
    • Metamagic can be used with this action, most notably Metamagic: Extended Spell Metamagic: Extended Spell which can double the duration to 4 turns.
    • It can be cast with a bonus action with Illusion Quickening Illusion Quickening.
