• On the ground in the Whispering Depths beneath the ⁠Blighted Village, at X: -565 Y: -355 (near the  Phase Spider Matriarch)
• On a desk at X: -1504 Y: -125 in the basement of ⁠Philgrave's Mansion in Act Three (if missed in the Whispering Depths)

Usage

• This item can be used to unlock the  Necromancy of Thay. Using the book with the Dark Amethyst grants an option to insert it into the oval recess as part of the quest ⁠Unlock the Ancient Tome.
