Fabricated Arbalest is a very rare +2 Heavy Crossbow that grants the wielder the Dazzling Ray and Illuminating Shot weapon actions.

A perfect system must be ruled by a keen eye - and any error foolish enough to rear its head afore the eye must be quickly, precisely, and totally eliminated. This crossbow can help with that.

Notes

Enver Gortash can be found in the audience hall during the coronation or in his personal quarters on top of the fortress.

Regarding Dazzling Ray:

  • Dazzling Ray uses the wielder's spell save DC rather than their weapon action DC and does not involve an attack roll. Consequently, it does not count as an attack for Extra AttackExtra Attack.
  • Dazzling Ray uses concentration similar to other spells that can be recast like SunbeamSunbeam.
  • While concentrating, the wielder gains a separate weapon action called Recast Dazzling RayRecast Dazzling Ray.
    • Recast Dazzling Ray only becomes available when the initial cast of Dazzling Ray strikes a target.
    • When casting Recast Dazzling Ray, the wielder makes a hidden DC 14 Constitution Saving ThrowConstitution Saving Throw to avoid being BurnedBurned for 2 turns.
    • When the wielder is burned, they immediately take 1d4FireFire which may break their concentration on Dazzling Ray.

Bugs

Regarding Illuminating Shot:

  • The damage dealt is fixed to 1d4PiercingPiercing and does not benefit from most damage bonuses that would otherwise affect normal attacks.
    • This includes Sharpshooter: All InSharpshooter: All In, which applies the accuracy penalty without adding the damage bonus.
