Guide:No Free Lunches

No Free Lunches is an acheivement which requires the party to defeat the Apostle of Myrkul before it consumes any necromites.

One way to do this relatively easily is to cast Darkness on the apostle and then deal as much damage to it as possible, stopping to kill any necromites that get close to it.

A more assured way to obtain this achievement requires approximately 20 smokepowder bombs, the resources to cast invisibility at least once, a means of obtaining enhanced leap (or misty step, or flight), a speed potion, and the callous glow ring. The 2 characters used for this fight should also have the alert feat.

Smokepowder bombs can be purchased from Quartermaster Talli; the first set of smokepowder bombs she sells may be bugged such that they will blow up, likely killing the character, if they try to throw them from the ground.^[verify] If the party purchases the bombs from her (recommended), send the first purchased smokepowder bombs from her to camp or put them in a crate somewhere before purchasing more.

Once the first cutscene before the fight (with Orin, Gortash, and Ketheric), ungroup the active party members. Cast enhance leap on the one with the bombs and the callous glow ring (or give them a potion of glorious vaulting) and have them jump up to the far right of the platform to the left of the entrance. Make sure to position them as far toward the back of the platform as possible. Then, split the stack of bombs in half and drop one of the stacks. Then, cast invisibility on another character and have them help Dame Aylin.

This will begin the fight. At this point, assuming one has the alert feat, the character with the bombs should throw the stack from the ground (not their inventory) as close to Ketheric without hitting him as possible. This should instantly kill him, starting the fight with the Apostle of Myrkul. Drink a potion of speed, drop a second stack of smokepowder bombs, and throw them next to (but not directly at) the apostle. This should be enough to kill him in any difficulty.

Tl;dr: Position one character out of sight (or invisible) at at least the height of Ketheric, close enough to throw something. After helping Dame Aylin with another character, drink a speed potion, then throw 1 stack of 10 smokepowder bombs at Ketheric and then 1 stack of 10 at the Apostle of Myrkul while wearing the callous glow ring.
