Soul Ascension is a level 6 evocation spell. It is available to Raphael while he is in his Ascended FiendAscended Fiend form. It creates an area that, while inside, lets his cambions deal Hellfire damage, and causes Necrotic damage to enemies. It cannot be learned by party members.

Description

Create a column of writhing souls that transforms allied Cambions into Hellfire CambionsHellfire Cambions and deals 6d10NecroticNecrotic to any non-fiend caught inside.

Cambions ascended by this cascade deal Hellfire damage, which ignores Resistance and Immunity to Fire damage.

Notes

  • Raphael casts this spell as a reaction to being attacked (no matter if it is a melee attack, ranged attack, or a spell), but it does not consume his Reaction. Instead, it costs him 1 charge of Legendary Action: Soul AscensionLegendary Action: Soul Ascension.
  • Raphael only casts this spell if the attacker doesn't already stand in the Writhing Souls area created by the previous cast of this spell.
  • Every time Raphael recasts this spell, the previous area of Writhing Souls is removed.

Bugs

  • SilenceSilence does not prevent Raphael from casting this spell despite technically requiring a verbal component.
