Detect Thoughts is a level 2 divination spell. This spell allows spellcasters to telepathically link to unprotected minds and hear the thoughts of targeted creatures while talking to them.
Description
Focus your mind to read the thoughts of certain creatures while talking to them.

- Class Level 3: Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard, and Great Old One
- Class Level 8: Arcane Trickster, and Eldritch Knight

- Granted by Uncovered Mysteries. Recharge: Long rest
- Granted by Mask of Soul Perception. Recharge: Short rest
- When attempting to use Detect Thoughts on an NPC, an Intelligence or Wisdom Ability Check is rolled. On a failure, the NPC may become hostile.
