Hunter is one of the Subclasses of Ranger. These Rangers are more specialized in dealing high damage to enemies, using Spellcasting, and area of effect and utility attacks to hunt down their prey.

Subclass features[edit | edit source]

Ranger's default armour
This subclass obtains all the features from its base class, Ranger, in addition to its unique features outlined below.

Level 3

Hunter's Prey
You specialise in fighting specific threats. Choose one of the following features:
Hunter's Prey Description
Colossus Slayer Colossus Slayer Once per turn, your weapon attack deals an extra D8 Physical.png 1d8 damage if the target is below its Hit Point maximum.
Giant Killer Giant Killer If a Large or bigger creature attacks you, you can use your Reaction to make a melee attack.
Horde Breaker Horde Breaker Target two creatures standing close to each other, attacking them in quick succession.

Level 7

Defensive Tactics
Faced with enemies that can instil dread, attack in frenzied bursts, and swarm in great numbers, rangers inevitably develop cunning methods of defence. Choose 1 of the following:

Escape the Horde Escape the Horde Opportunity Attacks against you have Disadvantage Icon.png Disadvantage.

Fire a cascade of arrows upon nearby enemies, making separate ranged attack rolls against each target.

Strike out at all nearby foes, making separate attacks rolls against each target.
