Sentinel: Vengeance

From bg3.wiki
Sentinel Vengeance.webp

Sentintel: Vengeance is a passive feature obtainable by the Sentinel Feat. Users of this feature can attack enemies who attacks an ally within your melee range.

Description

When an enemy in melee range attacks an ally, you can use a Reaction to make a weapon attack against that enemy. Target ally must not have the Sentinel feat.

How to learn

Granted by the feats: Sentinel

Notes

  • If two player characters A and B can move simultaneously (due to initiative order) and A has Sentinel feat, then B can trigger Sentinel: Vengeance attack by forcing an enemy (close to A) to make an Attack of Opportunity. Player character A also receives Extra Attacks for this attack.
  • Sentinel: Vengeance will attack with both weapons if dual wield attacks is toggled on.
    • If using the reaction attack outside of the character's turn, it will attack with both weapons.
    • If using the reaction on the character's turn (character A as detailed in the example above), the character must still have a bonus action available to get the two attacks. So, just use this reaction attack before using the bonus action
  • Unlike Attack of Opportunity, Sentinel: Vengeance attack is triggered even while wielding ranged weapon.
  • Sentinel: Snare does not apply to this attack, that is, an enemy hit with this attack can still move. This can be used to avoid getting stuck against enemies with Sentinel feat.
  • While the other Sentinel feats apply to druids in Wild Shape, this only applies to the Wild Shape forms that wield weapons, that is, to Air, Fire, and Water Myrmidon (As of Hotfix 19).
