Mitchia

Unholy Assassin Mitchia is a member of the Cult of Bhaal. She is found in the Temple of Bhaal, in the Lower City Sewers, during Act Three.

Involvement

Act Three

Mitchia is in the Bhaal Temple in the Undercity of Baldur's Gate. She stands on the upper balcony of the temple and never descends to the central altar ground. Mitchia discusses with  Eni Orin's victim displayed in a side alcove – one of those whom Orin impersonated to speak to the party in Rivington.

If the party speak with Mitchia, her comments depend in part on whether they took part in the Murder Tribunal. If the  Dark Urge is present, she may state that she looks forward to watching the duel between them and  Orin, believing it will be instructive for her. Regardless of the outcome, Mitchia remains neutral to the party.

Later in the Act Three, if the Dark Urge accepts their fate as Bhaal's chosen, she, along with  Rycke and {CharLink|Sarevok Anchev}} move to the High Hall.

Combat

Mitchia has a uniquely deadly combination of abilities. Her  Dread Embrace bonus action can paralyse a target which then guarantees a critical hit from her level 11 sneak attack. This combination deals 2d4 + 12d6 + 6⁠⁠Piercing damage and is then doubled again due vulnerability from her  Aura of Murder resulting in a total of 40~172 damage; an average of 106⁠⁠Piercing damage.

Furthermore, she is protected by  Sanctuary and  Unstoppable so it can be difficult to kill her before she has a chance to unleash this combo.

Hold a humanoid enemy still. They can't move, act, or react. Attacks from within 3 m / 10 ft are always Critical Hits.

1d4 + 6⁠Piercing

+ 1d6⁠Weapon

Deal an extra 1d6 damage to a foe you have  Advantage against.

Also works if you have an ally within 1.5 m (5 ft) of the target and you don't have  Disadvantage.

  You'd have poisoned your prey? Seems a bit... dull.

  Not if the poison made the skin leak blood and the eyes weep pus. Be creative.

• Eni

  I believe Orin first made an incision in the upper left clavicle.

• Mitchia

  I am afraid I must disagree. Orin's first cut was quite clearly the throat.

• Eni

  But... would she not toy with the victim? Why begin with a death blow?

• Mitchia

  A proper cut throat does not kill right away. It bleeds the victim.

• Eni

  Like a prize piglet, trussed up for the slaughter... Yes. You're quite right.

• Eni

  You are well studied in Lady Orin's ways, I see

• Mitchia

  One cannot be a true Unholy Assassin without knowing their betters.

  And we've never seen a murderer quite like Lady Orin before. No one has.

• Mitchia

  So tell me. If this was your kill, how would you have done it?

• Eni

  I'd have ripped the spine out, and worn its carcass as a cowl.

• Mitchia

  Inventive, but wasteful. What of the backbone - you would discard it?

  Of course not. I'd save it for later - there's always use for a spine.
