Polearm Master: Opportunity Attack

Polearm Master: Opportunity Attack is a passive feature/reaction granted by the Polearm Master feat. It grants the ability to spend a  Reaction to attack an enemy when they come within melee range.

Description

When wielding a  Glaive,  Halberd,  Pike,^{[See: Bugs]}  Quarterstaff, or  Spear, you can make an  Opportunity Attack when a target comes within range.

Prerequisite: Must be wielding a glaive, halberd, pike,^{[See: Bugs]} quarterstaff, or spear.

Notes

• Cannot be triggered by moving forcibly an enemy into the range, for example, by shoving.
• Unlike the regular  Opportunity Attack, this reaction is able to be used while under the protection of  Sanctuary but will immediately break the effect.
• This passive is not listed on character sheets.

Bugs

• This reaction is still able to attack targets that have either  Panache or  Fancy Footwork.
• Due to a reaction timing issue, this reaction does not function with  Sentinel: Snare and a weapon with Extra Reach to stop creatures from entering within their 1.5 m (5 ft) melee range. The Opportunity Attack reaction window will prompt at 2.5 m (8 ft), but the attack will not be made until the creature has already moved to within 1.5 m (5 ft).
• The descriptions omit that Polearm Mastery works with Pikes too. Polearm Master is coded to work with any weapon that is tagged as a SPEAR or STAVE (quarterstaffs), and weapons with Extra Reach (Glaives, Halberds and Pikes).
