Notes

  • This ring is one of few pieces of equipment that works while under the effect of wild shape.
  • Two ways among many to trade for this item are:
  1. Have the player character stand next to the entrance to the Tiefling Hideout and use a ranged attack, then immediately enter the hideout; upon climbing back up the ladder, the attacker will be able to speak with the Ox and trade to "...smooth things over".
  2. Have the attacking character flee via stealth and/or invisibility.
  • The Mark of the Shifter condition is applied during transformation and lasts Until Long Rest. After application of this condition, one may unequip this ring for others to use without losing the condition.
  • This does not take effect if shape changed via a Seeming spell cast by a different party member. However, the targeted party member can gain the effect by casting Adjust Seeming and picking a different appearance.
  • Because killing the Strange Ox in Act 1 and completing Help the Devilish Ox both prevent acquiring the Hat of Fire Acuity, trading with it in Act 1 is the only way to acquire both items.
