Otto's Irresistible Dance is a level 6 enchantment spell. This spell allows spellcasters to force a creature to stay in place, inactive.
Description
Cause a creature to start dancing, making it unable to take Actions or Move. Its attackers have Advantage on Attack rolls. The dancer has Disadvantage on Attack Rolls and DexteritySaving throws. The dancer receives saving throw opportunities only on future turns; first turn effect is guaranteed.
Unlike most other control spells, the target of Otto’s Irresistible Dance does not get to attempt a saving throw when the spell is first cast, meaning its turn is very likely to be wasted.
Counterspell is one of the very few ways to prevent this from happening
Until Patch 4 the target of this spell did not get to attempt to make saving throws on subsequent turns which makes it an irresistible 10 round crowd control ability. This bug was fixed in Patch 4.
The incantation for Otto's Irresistible Dance is Obēdirē, the Latin command "obey!"
