Johl is a Human NPC in Baldur's Gate 3. He can be found at the Sunlit Wetlands, searching for his sister Mayrina.
Chapter One
When the player first enters the Sunlit Wetlands from the east, they will find Johl and his brother Demir asking Auntie Ethel where their sister Mayrina is and accusing Ethel of having taken her. The player can talk with the group to gain more information about the situation, learning that Mayrina disappeared and the last person to see her was Ethel. Throughout the encounter, Demir is pleading with her to tell them their sister is all right while she insists that she has no idea and is willing to help them look for her.
Eventually, the player will be forced to take sides in the conversation. If they decide to side with Auntie Ethel, Demir and Johl will accuse you of working with her and attack. If they don't side with Ethel, she will chastise them and disappear in a burst of magic. The player can then talk to the two brothers and attempt to convince them not to follow her into the swamp. While Demir listens and is willing to take the player's advice if they offer to look for Mayrina instead, Johl refuses and drags his brother into the Sunlit Wetlands with him.
Demir and his brother are dead the next they are found in the wetlands, presumably having been killed by Redcaps.
