Adept Ghulen is a halfling Adept of the Absolute that can be found in Moonrise Towers in Act Two. He can be found in the Moonrise Towers Prison, guarding the stairs leading up to the ground floor's main hall.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Moonrise Towers[edit | edit source]

Ghulen can be first encountered in the Moonrise Towers Prison, right after descending from the ground floor or a few steps away from the docks entrance. He stands by the stairs leading up to the ground floor. Talking with Ghulen lets him complain about the prisoners' incessant cries and screaming, as well as about the smell of the gnomes.

If Minthara Minthara's demise is prevented and freed from Jasin Jasin and Sumera Sumera's torture, Ghulen usually is the first Absolutist the party can encounter upon leaving the area, and he needs to be convinced in order to let Minthara go.

  • [ILLITHID] [WISDOM] She's with me - stand down. (DC 14)
  • [TRUE SOUL] What prisoner?
  • [INTIMIDATION] Minthara's been released - and that frees up a cell for people like you, who challenge their betters. (DC 14)
  • [PERSUASION] I think she serves rather well as my personal servant, don't you? (DC 14)
  • [DECEPTION] Just look at her. You've nothing to fear from this drooling idiot. (DC 16)
  • Attack.

Defending Moonrise Towers[edit | edit source]

If the Aylin Nightsong is freed and the Harpers launch their assault on Moonrise Towers, Ghulen is killed during the subsequent battle in a Harper flanking attack from the docks entrance. His corpse can be found next to the stairs leading up to the ground floor, exactly where he stood previously.
