From bg3.wiki
Lightning Jabber image

Lightning Jabber is an uncommon +1 Spear that deals extra Lightning damage when thrown, and also has a chance to ShockShock a target on hit.

Notes

  • There is a saving throw for Shocking Grasp condition, but combat log does not show it.
  • When the Lightning Jabber is dipped into a dippable surface, it receives the coating but it also removes the dippable surface.
  • The description of Throwing: Lightning Damage is somewhat misleading, as the spear does the same 1d4LightningLightning damage when thrown as when used in a melee attack. However most thrown weapons do not apply their extra damage when thrown, which is what the passive enables.

Bugs

  • Shocking Sting states that it has a chance to apply ShockedShocked, but the condition actually applied is the similar but less potent Shocking GraspShocking Grasp.
  • Despite being labelled as a Spear, the Root Template is erroneously tagged as a Javelin and as such does not work with the Polearm Master feat.
