Encased in a cocoon of shadow within the lantern, the mangled pixie lies like some deformed pupa, its mouth slack, and those same shadows crawling over its graying tongue.

Notes
- The Shadow Lantern is created by having Gale combine a Dead Pixie with a Broken Moonlantern. See Balthazar's Experiment for more information. While in game dialogue also allows the slim possibility for the player character to craft this item, this option is only given if Gale is present.
- Summoning the Shadow Wraith as well as using the Moonshield provided by this item is not possible if the lantern is equipped in the torch slot; it must be equipped as a weapon.
- Despite being tagged as a Rare item, the ingame tooltip for the Shadow Lantern is coloured as a Story Item, like other Moonlanterns.
- Despite the implication of the flavour text's description, the Shadow Lantern emits a bright sphere of light when in equipped a weapon slot and, as such, provides full protection from the Shadow Curse.
