Animate Dead: Skeleton is a level 3 necromancy spell. This spell allows spellcasters to animate a corpse to create a skeleton that focuses on ranged weaponry.

This spell is a variation of Animate Dead.

Description

The Skeleton is armed with a Shortbow and has a Proficiency Bonus of +2.

Casting this spell at a higher level grants no additional benefit.

Notes

  • Patch 3 introduced a bug where skeletons summoned by this spell do not have weapons.
  • Warlocks with the Pact of the Tome Pact Boon can cast this spell once per Long Rest once they receive Deepened Pact at level 5.
