Simple Weapons are weapons that are easy to learn and use. Any commoner can wield simple weapons in combat. Every classes except Druid, Monk, Wizard, are proficient with all type of simple weapons at level 1.

  • When attacking with Simple Weapons without proficiency, you can not add your Proficiency Bonus (Strength for Melee Weapons, Dexterity for Ranged Weapons) to your Attack Rolls. Resulting in lower chances to successfully hit enemies. For example:
    • When a character that has no Proficiency with Simple Weapons makes a melee attack to an enemy, their Attack Roll would be: Nobgd20.png d20
    • When a character that has Proficiency with Simple Weapons makes a melee attack to an enemy, their Attack Roll would be: Nobgd20.png d20 + Proficiency Bonus
  • Every classes except Druid, Wizard, Sorcerer are proficient with all types of simple weapons at level 1:
    • Druids are proficient with clubs, daggers, darts, javelins, maces, quarterstaffs, sickles, slings, spears.
    • Wizards are proficient with daggers, darts, slings, quarterstaves, light crossbows.
    • Sorcerers are proficient with daggers, darts, slings, quarterstaves, light crossbows.
