Lewis Morell is an Absolutist cultist and paladin that can be found slain on the steps leading into High Hall. Killed by remnants of the City Watch, Lewis is one of two corpses in the area that can be spoken to with Speak with Dead Speak with Dead, the other one being Halfar.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Lewis Morell was once a worker in Baldur's Gate, but under the impression that the Steel Watch was to potentially replace his job, he was soon brought into the fold of the Cult of the Absolute, either forcibly or of his own volition.[1]

As a cultist within the Absolute army, Lewis Morell was part of a large force assaulting the High Hall from the depths of the Upper City Sewers. During the ensuing battle against the City Watch, the cultists destroyed and forced the remnants of the City Watch into fleeing the area, at the cost of high casualties — Lewis Morell included (X: 254 Y: 76).

Notes and References[edit | edit source]

  1. It's not clear as to how Lewis Morell joined the Cult of the Absolute as his dialogue mention both personal motivations to abandon Baldur's Gate, his loyalty to the Absolute, and his hopes that the party fails in their endeavors, but also that his adherence to the cult was nevertheless not by choice.
  2. According to developer's notes, it's likely that Lewis Morell's dialogue was meant to let curious players know that leading a frontal assault into High Hall would be dangerous, and to give them a subtle hint as to the whereabouts of a secret underground passage used by the Absolutists.
