Eilistraee is the drow Goddess of beauty and freedom, chaotic good. She is associated with the domains Life, Light, Nature.

No wonder Eillistraee smiled and wept with equal fierceness when she defeated her mother.

Overview[edit section | visual editor]

Eilistraee [1] is the goddess of beauty, song, and freedom. She is worshipped by Drow who abandoned her mother LolthLolth because the Dark Maiden desires balance between all races, and struggles against her mother Lolth's corrupt aims.

This deity can be selected by player Clerics except Lolth-sworn Drow.

Notes[edit section | visual editor]

  1. The name Eilistraee does not have an absolutely fixed, universally agreed-upon pronunciation - different fans (and even some official sources) have rendered it slightly differently over the years. However, the most common or widely accepted versions tend to be:
    • “EYE-liss-TRAY” (three syllables)
    • “EYE-liss-TRY” (if one prefers a slightly sharper final sound)
One may also occasionally hear variations like “AY-liss-tray,” but “EYE-liss-TRAY” is the one heard the most among Dungeons & Dragons players.
