Call Lightning

Call Lightning is a level 3 conjuration spell. This spell allows spellcasters to call down lightning to hit all targets within range. The spellcaster can also continue to call down lightning repeatedly on subsequent turns.

Description

Call down lightning to hit all targets within range and its area of effect for 3d10Lightning damage. On a successful save, targets still take half damage. Duration: 10 turns.

When cast, the spellcaster gains the following ability:

• Activate Call Lightning: Call down more lightning to hit all targets within range.
  • Damage: 3d10Lightning (Dexterity Save to halve)
  • Action
  •  Range: 18 m / 60 ft

Concentration

At higher levels

Upcast: When the spell is cast using a 4th level spell slot or higher, damage increases by 1d10Lightning for each Spell Slot Level above 3rd.

How to learn

Classes:

• Class Level 5: Druid , and Tempest Domain Cleric

• Class Level 6: Storm Sorcery Sorcerer , and College of Lore Bard (via Magical Secrets subclass feature)

• Class Level 10: Bard (via Magical Secrets class feature)

Notes

• Circle of the Land Druids who choose the Coast or Forest Land at level 5 learn this spell automatically.
• Warlocks with the Pact of the Tome Pact Boon can cast this spell once per Long Rest once they receive Deepened Pact at level 5.
