At higher levels
- At character level 5, the damage increases to 2d10Fire.
- At character level 10, the damage increases to 3d10Fire.

- Class Level 3: Arcane Trickster, and Eldritch Knight
- Class Level 6: College of Lore (via Magical Secrets)
- Class Level 10: Bard (via Magical Secrets)
Races:
- Character level 1: High Elf, and High Half-Elf
(Character level is the sum of all class levels for a multi-classed character.)

Notes
- The High Elf and High Half-Elf racial versions of this spell are from the Wizard spell list and use Intelligence as the spellcasting ability, regardless of the character's class.
- Objects such as torches, campfires, and braziers will ignite when taking fire damage; this spell provides an easy way to ignite them from a distance.
- The incantation for Fire Bolt is Ignis, Latin for "fire."
