  • The High Elf and High Half-Elf racial versions of this cantrip are from the Wizard spell list and use Intelligence as the spellcasting ability, regardless of the character's class.
  • Objects such as torches, campfires, and braziers ignite when taking fire damage; this spell provides an easy way to ignite them from a distance.
  • The incantation for Fire Bolt is Ignis, Latin for "fire."
