** Dead non-playable characters cannot be revived after dying.
** Non-playable characters cannot be revived after dying.
** Companions, some potential companions and playable characters can be revived. However, there are caveats. Some of these include:
** Normally, companions, temporary companions and playable characters can be revived. However, most cannot be if they have not been recruited first, or die as a result of certain plot-lines in the game. Listed below are known scenarios where death is permanent:
*** Many, if not all, companions and potential companions cannot be revived if they have not been recruited first. For example, if Astarion is killed by the Nautiloid crash site before being added to the party, he cannot be revived. Also, if Minthara is killed while being escorted out of Moonrise Towers before being admitted to the party campsite, she cannot be revived.
*** Wyll dies during the goblin assault on the Druid Grove.
*** Should Alfira somehow be recruited, she cannot be revived.
*** Karlach is killed as part of Wyll's questline, before or after being admitted to the party.
*** Wyll is killed by Karlach during a cut-scene confrontation just prior to long-resting, after both have been recruited.
*** Astarion is killed by the player character upon waking up to his attempt to feed on them.
*** Lae'zel is killed by Shadowheart in an evening cut-scene at camp after their argument over the Mysterious Artefact.
*** Minthara is killed while being escorted out of Moonrise Towers before being admitted to the party campsite.
*** Halsin dies while attempting to rescue Thaniel from the Shadow Curse.
*** Minsc is killed during the fight in the Lower City Sewers.
** Alfira is an exception to the above. Should she be recruited and perish at any point after, she cannot be revived.
