- Damage from the Shadow Curse caps out at 16d4 (16~64)

- Spells that emit light, such as , , , or
- Pieces of magical equipment that naturally emit light, such as
The Blood of Lathander
- A Moonlantern carried in the active weapon set or placed on the ground nearby.
- A Shadow Lantern, a special variant of the Moonlantern, does not emit light and will not protect from the Shadow Curse.
- Within deeper pockets of the Shadow Curse, such as the area surrounding the Reithwin Town waypoint, weaker light sources may be immediately snuffed out. In these areas, only a , or a Moonlantern can help the party.
- Enduring the Shadow Curse for two consecutive rounds without dying awards Inspiration to a character with the Outlander background.
