Lower City
Lady Jannath's Estate
Steel Watch Foundry Grey Harbour Docks
Water Queen's House
The Steel Watch Foundry is a Location within the Lower City in Act Three of Baldur's Gate 3.

Overview[edit | edit source]

The foundry is located near the Waypoint at the Grey Harbour Docks.

There are two Steel Watchers guarding the front entrance - one which patrols the front and south side of the building, and another which stays on the south side near the loading dock. A third Watcher is guarding the roof.

Fast travel and resting is not possible inside of this area.

Main Floor[edit | edit source]

Looking straight down the center of the main floor.

The main floor is where final assembly of Steel Watchers takes place. Several partially completed watchers can be found in various states, hanging from the ceiling or lying around on tables. Zanner Toobin Zanner Toobin and his fellow gondians can be found here, being "motivated" to work by Tamia Holzt Tamia Holzt and her Black Gauntlet of Banes

In the rear of the building, an office of sorts can be found, as well as an entrance and elevator to the Lab Level. The Watcher Crossbow Blueprint, Steel Watcher Arm and Targeting Module can be found and combined in the office at the back to create a Hellfire Engine Crossbow.

Lab Level[edit | edit source]

The view from the elevator.

The lab level is where various components of Steel Watchers are constructed. There appears to be a forge as well as a conveyor belt and several Steel Watcher torsos. Many Gondians and Black Gauntlet of Banes can be found fighting here, along with several Steel Watcher Steel Watchers.

There is also an operating area with two operating beds and a numerous dead zombies. On the side is what appears to be a shrine to Bane and beside that table is another table containing a Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen.

Control Centre[edit | edit source]

A view of the Neurocitor and its control panel.

At the heart of the foundry is the Control Centre. There is a brief corridor before the main area that contains several brains in a Brain Jar that can be 'connected' to with the tadpole to view and control a Steel Watcher from their perspectives. It is necessary to pass a 25 DC Wisdom Check (or 2 DC Illithid Check) for each Watcher that is about to hurt someone. Each party member can only use the Illithid power once, so rotating between members maybe helpful. There are four of the six, that can be controlled temporarily. Unfortunately, destroying the brain that is noted to be guarding the Control Centre does not disable that watcher when engaging in combat.

Following the corridor is a large open room where there are three upgraded Steel Watchers called Hellfire Watcher Hellfire Watchers, and a Steel Watcher Titan Steel Watcher Titan boss. Flashblinder grenades are helpful against the Titan since they can stun it out of defensive mode.

At the back of the room is the Neurocitor, a large fusion of electronics and brain matter that allows the Netherbrain to connect to and control the Steel Watchers throughout Baldur's Gate.
