Notes
- The version of Sunbeam granted by this item does not allow recasting on subsequent turns.
- Within the game files, this item has multiple variations with different names, but same functionality:
- UUID:
96a35552-0c05-4df0-9974-2a8f142e4be6(Blood of Lathander). This version of the item has a quote unlike the ingame version, which may have been intended for the usable version: The large chunk of amber set into the handle of this luminous mace supposedly holds four drops of godly blood, fallen to the earth in a battle between an avatar of Lathander and a maddened Chosen of Mystra. - UUID:
7b961f08-46c1-46b1-99bc-c59283831a0b(Dawngrip Mace). This is the current usable variant.
- UUID:
Regarding Lathander's Blessing:
- Lathander's Blessing does not activate if the wielder is not in the active party. For example, a companion who is left at camp and receives damage via Warding Bond which reduces their hit points to zero does not cause this effect to trigger.
- Lathander's Blessing does not protect against being shoved, thrown, or otherwise forcibly displaced into chasms.
Regarding Lathander's Light:
- Unlike Light, the Lathander's Light condition works even when wielding a ranged weapon.
- The light emitted by Lathander's Light has the following properties:
- It does not apply to allies, meaning you won't blind your own summoned undead.
- It dispels the Shadow Curse, removing the need to equip a Torch.
- It enables effects that require the target be illuminated, such as applying the damage from the Callous Glow Ring.
- It is considered sunlight for the purpose of triggering Sunlight Hypersensitivity but is not for Sunlight Sensitivity.
- It applies to neutral creatures (including neutral Undead), potentially making them hostile.
Bugs
Regarding Lathander's Blessing:
- Lathander's Blessing does not heal allies of the wielder, but rather only active party members nearby.
- Due to the way the heal is coded, the attacker who triggered Lathander's Blessing is considered to be the source of the healing. As a result, the healing will not trigger on-heal effects such as Blessed Mercy from The Whispering Promise when equipped by the wielder.
- Due to an incorrectly set
TargetConditionsfield, the additional 1d6hit points affects the wielder in addition to the 2d6hit points. - Due to a timing limitation caused by the method in which healing is applied, the wielder may not always receive all of the healing they are stated to have received in the combat log; they often receive only 1hit points (from being stabilized) or 1d6hit points, rather than the stated 1d6+2d6hit points. It is also possible for the wielder to receive healing, yet still remain dead, showing their lootable corpse with remaining hitpoints.
- Due to a missing technical condition (
MAG_LATHANDERS_TRACKER) resulting from The Blood of Lathander being spawned in-game via a "Local Item", this passive's "Once per Long Rest" cooldown only refreshes for the wielder during a Long Rest. Equipping the weapon on another character that did not wield the weapon during a Long Rest does not allow this passive to trigger. Additionally, Lathander's Blessing is not reset when consuming a Potion of Angelic Slumber or when affected by Divine Intervention: Opulent Revival.
