Brand of the Absolute
The Brand of the Absolute is an optional permanent bonus that leads to unique dialogue options and powerful item interactions.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
The brand is a combination of the symbols of each of the Dead Three: the black hand of Bane, the bloody skull of Bhaal, and the triangle-inset skull of Myrkul.
Becoming Branded[edit | edit source]
A party member may become branded by speaking to Gut in the Shattered Sanctum. After branding them, she attempts to mentally connect to their parasite and ask them to join her in her private chapel. After this conversation, Gut no longer offers to brand additional characters, but any party member can receive the brand by speaking to Warlock Greez.
Becoming branded has the following consequences:
- A one-time disapproval from the following Companions:

- "Branded" appears in the Tags section of the character's Detailed View.
- The tag may not show up if the character is disguised.
- "Branded" Dialogue options become available.
Branded Dialogue[edit | edit source]
- Brakkal recognizes the brand and subsequently refuses to talk to the branded character.
- Gekh Coal backs down without a dialogue check at the Decrepit Village in the Underdark.
- Corsair Greymon backs down without a dialogue check on the skiff in the Underdark.
- Lump and his fellow Ogres back down without a dialogue check at the Blighted Village.
