      • Prior to patching, spawning a deva with this curse used to be a common way to acquire the powerful Deva Mace they carry.
    • For clerics, the type of enemy is dependent on the deity they worship:
      • Good Deities[3]Devas
      • Neutral Deities[4]Djinn
      • Evil Deities[5]Cambions
  • If the afflicted character dies or is cured via Remove CurseRemove Curse or Greater RestorationGreater Restoration, one enemy is spawned; if they are healed, short rest, long rest, or die, two enemies are spawned.[verify]
  • Nearby characters may become hostile to the summoned enemies, making them temporary allies of the party.[6] XP is still gained for any of the summons killed, and the party receives no penalty for NPC allies killed in this manner.
