Act Three

Drussuvissill is near the main entrance of Basilisk Gate Barracks in the Lower City. Alongside Ploughman Zakk and Turnip Bubbs, the farmers are distraught that they must turn over their livestock to Kuthbert, who is enforcing Enver Gortash's decrees. Drussuvissill has a low opinion of Gortash and is doubtful that the farmers will be compensated for their livestock.

Idle banter

Fist Kuthbert: Any complaints will be handled after you turn your animals over to the care of the ducal council.

• Turnip Bubbs: And what good is that going to do us? How are we going to support ourselves?
  • Drussuvissill: My thoughts exactly - you're sentencing us all to a slow death.
