Fist 'Edge' Arensen is a human fighter and a member of the Flaming Fist. He can be found in the Lower City in Act Three.

Do not fear the gallows! It is here to serve you - the people of Baldur's Gate.

Involvement[edit section | visual editor]

Arensen is working as the executioner at the gallows outside the Basilisk Gate Barracks. He also acts as a towncrier, occasionally shouting out warnings and moral teachings for bypassers to hear.

If the party started the Free Counsellor FlorrickFree Counsellor Florrick quest by reading an Execution Notice, and have no clues on counsellor's whereabouts, they may talk to Arensen and ask him about her.

If FlorrickFlorrick is executed, Arensen completely agrees with the propaganda about her treason, and after GortashGortash is defeated, he ruefully concludes that the city's future is forfeit.

At some point during Act Three Arensen has executed both Durm GoroyDurm Goroy and Vince TorellVince Torell and they will show up next to him hanging the gallows.

While speaking to Arensen for the first time, the interacting party member gets additional dialogue options which might bring approval / disapproval from various companions:
