Encounters

Act One

The player can find her frustrated over not being able to compose a song for her recently dead teacher, Lihala. She can be inspired by the player through words, or if the player accepts her lute and succeeds two Performance checks (DC 15 and 10 respectively), performing a duet, to help her write her song. If successful, she will compose The Weeping Dawn. If the player successfully played the lute, they will gain proficiency with musical instruments.

After playing her song, she'll confess in tears she was there with her teacher when they were ambushed by Gnolls, who killed Lihala, and was just trying to create a worthy eulogy for her.

If she is alive after the player returns from the Goblin Camp, she'll be found talking with Lakrissa at the Party, and will offer the player to compose a song about them and their deeds.

If the player doesn't wish to help her, they can either leave, or rob, or destroy her lute.

The Dark Urge Origin

Background HauntedOne Icon.png Spoiler warning! This section reveals interactions with The Dark Urge.

If the player is playing as The Dark Urge, Alfira will visit their camp shortly after arriving at the Emerald Grove, whether the player has interacted with her or not. Whether the player allows her to spend the night at camp or not, the player will wake up to find her disemboweled by their own hand. They can decide whether to hide the evidence or not, or whether to embrace their handiwork or be horrified by it. If Alfira is already dead, knocked out, or otherwise unavailable at this time, she will be replaced by a Dragonborn bard named Quil. It is often highly beneficial for a Dark Urge Origin player to knock her out before taking a long rest in order to prevent her death, as they otherwise cannot acquire the Potent Robe. When the long rest is completed, Alfira will be awake and continue to live into Act 2 to potentially award the Potent Robe.

Act Two

In Act Two, Alfira can be found inside the Last Light Inn sitting by the fire at X: -66 Y: 142. Upon speaking to her, the player will learn that some of the tieflings were taken to Moonrise Towers, thus starting the Rescue the Tieflings quest. If Lakrissa is successfully saved along with the other tieflings, Alfira will reward you with the Potent Robe and various other loot.

Act Three

In Act Three, assuming she survives the events of previous acts, Alfira can be found on the rooftop of the Elfsong Tavern.

If Lakrissa survived, she will be waiting tables at the Elfsong, and may occasionally be found on the roof with Alfira. The two of them will reveal that they are dating, and that Alfira is planning on opening a bardic school.

Trivia

  • Though dialogue refers to her as a bard, she has no spells from the class and notably has a much higher Intelligence than Charisma.
  • Her singing voice during her cinematic performance of The Weeping Dawn is performed by Vesela Delcheva.
