Tieflings are a playable race in Baldur's Gate 3. Touched by the Hells, tieflings are resistant to fire and carry extraordinary Infernal powers.

Descended from devils of the Nine Hells - by blood or curse - tieflings face constant suspicion in Faerûn. Their arcane abilities make them natural survivors, whether as heroes or villains.

  • Base Racial Speed: 9 m / 30 ft
  • Darkvision Darkvision
  • Hellish Resistance Hellish Resistance: Your blood protects you from flame, abyssal or otherwise. Gain Resistance to Fire damage, taking only half damage from it.

Default Asmodeus tiefling appearances
Bound to Nessus, the deepest layer of the Hells, these Tieflings inherit the ability to wield fire and darkness from the archdevil Asmodeus' infernal bloodline.

    • Legacy of Cania: Burning Hands Burning Hands (Level 3; casts as if using a second-level slot; uses Charisma as its spell modifier; Recharge: Long rest)
    • Legacy of Cania: Flame Blade Flame Blade (Level 5; uses Charisma as its modifier to hit with the resulting blade, Recharge: Long rest)

Tieflings from Zariel's bloodlines are empowered with martial strength, and can channel searing flame to punish their enemies.

Bugs

  1. The tooltip of Produce Flame Produce Flame is misleading; the attack roll uses the character's Wisdom stat instead of Charisma. The tooltip for the associated attack correctly reports this.
