Burning Hands

Burning Hands is a level 1 evocation spell. It allows spellcasters to shoot a flaming cone from their fingertips and deal ⁠Fire damage to enemies.

Description

Each flammable target is hit with 3d6⁠⁠Fire damage.

• Class level 1: Sorcerer, Wizard, The Fiend, Light Domain (Domain Spell), and Draconic Bloodline (Red/Fire)
• Class level 3: Arcane Trickster and Eldritch Knight

Races:

• Character level 3: Mephistopheles Tiefling

(Character level is the sum of all class levels for a multi-classed character.)

Granted by features:

•  Magic Initiate: Sorcerer
•  Magic Initiate: Wizard

Other ways to learn:

• Wizards can transcribe a  Scroll of Burning Hands to their spellbooks.

Notes

• The incantation for Burning Hands is Ardē, the Latin command "burn/blaze!"
• Mephistopheles tieflings receive a unique variant  Legacy of Cania: Burning Hands, which they can cast at level 2 once per Long Rest and does not cost a spell slot.
