Liam is one of the adventurers that followed Aradin to the Shattered Sanctum, hoping to find the Nightsong. According to Remira, Liam was the first to charge the goblins, but the other adventurers thought he was reckless and left him to his fate.
The player can decide to show the goblins how to properly torture their prisoner. If successful, Liam will reveal the location of the Grove, and Torturer Spike will report the information to Minthara. After the goblins have gone the player can try to convince Liam they are on his side and free him.
Alternatively, the player can choose to free Liam by either killing the goblins or convincing Torturer Spike to leave. If successfully released, Liam will run away through a hidden path in the same room.
Afterwards, he can be found resting in the Emerald Grove next to his fellow adventures.
