==Overview==
It is necessary to travel to the Shadowfell during the quest {{Quest|Find the Nightsong#Shadowfell|Find the Nightsong}}. The main feature of this area is the '''Nightsong's Prison''' at the very bottom of the path. There {{CharLink|Balthazar}} has chained {{CharLink|Aylin|Aylin, the Nightsong}}. Her fate has to be decided. And this has an important influence on {{CharLink|Shadowheart|Shadowheart's}} personal quest [[The Chosen of Shar]].  


Gravity is lighter here than back on the material plane and as such you can jump a lot further without taking damage.
Regardless of the outcome, taking the portal to the Shadowfell is a point of no return and locks the party out of several quests and locations. After the Shadowfell the party must confront {{CharLink|Ketheric Thorm}} at [[Moonrise Towers]].


Jump downwards to reach the [[Dame Aylin|Nightsong]]. This may take some moving of the camera to find the next area you can jump to.

A cutscene will play and you get to decide whether [[Shadowheart]] will walk the path of light or darkness as the culmination of [[The Chosen of Shar]]. Kill the Nightsong to walk the path of Shar (and gain [[Shar's Spear of Evening]]) or turn from Shar and gain a powerful ally (and access to [[Selûne's Spear of Night]] later in the game).

The Shadowfell is a region in Act Two of Baldur's Gate 3. It is a plane of shadows and claimed as the domain of Shar Shar. Similar to the Astral Plane, gravity is weaker than on the material plane and it is easily possible to jump great distances through the shattered terrain.
