Shar's Spear of Evening is a legendary +3 Spear which allows the wielder to gain Shar's Blessing and immunity to blindness.
When visiting mortals in dreams, Shar's hair would curl and twist about her head like strands of inky midnight. If it tickled her nose, the goddess was careful not to show it.

Where to find
- Shadowfell X: -604 Y: -1431: Rewarded to Shadowheart for killing the Nightsong
Notes
- Steps for acquisition:
- Shadowheart must be present in the Shadowfell; she leaves the party upon returning from the Shadowfell if entering without her and becomes hostile if insisting on entering the Shadowfell without the Spear of Night in the inventory of the active party.
- Aylin must die during The Chosen of Shar.
- Shar rewards Shadowheart with this spear when leaving the Shadowfell.
Regarding Blind Immunity:
- Helldusk Helmet and Steelwatcher Helmet provide similar immunity to blindness, but do not allow the wearer to see through magical darkness.
Bugs
Regarding Shar's Blessing:
- Shar's Blessing adds its bonus damage to any weapon attacks against obscured creatures, not just attacks with this spear.
- The advantage on saving throws only applies to Dexterity saving throws.
Regarding Blind Immunity:
- Despite not stating such in the description, Blind Immunity also allows the wearer to see through magical darkness.
Regarding Edge of Darkness:
- The ingame tooltip for this action is inaccurate and missing key information:
- The tooltip does not mention the fact that once you strike the main target, an additional attack is made against every creature within the 3 m / 10 ft radius around that target, including allies.
- These additional attacks also deal Weapon DamagePiercing damage, including all normal weapon damage bonuses, despite some inconsistencies in the combat log.
- On-hit reactions such as Divine Smite can be applied to each creature hit by this action (at the cost of multiple spell slots, in the case of Divine Smite).
- The tooltip claims there is an associated Constitution saving throw, but this is not true.
- The tooltip does not mention the fact that once you strike the main target, an additional attack is made against every creature within the 3 m / 10 ft radius around that target, including allies.
