Shadowfell

The everlasting shrouds and shadows of the Shadowfell

The Shadowfell is a region in Act Two of Baldur's Gate 3. It is a plane of shadows and claimed as the domain of  Shar. Similar to the Astral Plane, gravity is weaker than on the material plane and it is easily possible to jump great distances through the shattered terrain.

Overview

It is necessary to travel to the Shadowfell during the quest  Find the Nightsong. The main feature of this area is the Nightsong's Prison at the very bottom of the path. There  Balthazar has chained  Aylin, the Nightsong. Her fate has to be decided. And this has an important influence on  Shadowheart's personal quest The Chosen of Shar.

Regardless of the outcome, taking the portal to the Shadowfell is a point of no return and locks the party out of several quests and locations. After the Shadowfell the party must confront  Ketheric Thorm at Moonrise Towers.
