Rolan is a Tiefling NPC in Baldur's Gate 3. He can be found at the Druid Grove arguing with Cal and Lia over whether they should help the refugees or leave.
Chapter One
When the player enters The Hollow they'll notice Rolan loudly arguing with his companions, wanting to leave the refugees behind and make their way to Baldur's Gate before the goblins attack again. He believes that they shouldn't throw lives away helping strangers while Lia argues that the trio should use their skills to do something to help, accusing him of only caring about his apprenticeship in the Gate.
The player can step into the discussion and advise the group to either save themselves or, with a successful Persuasion check, convince them to stay and defend the Grove. If Rolan decides to stay, he can be asked about his apprenticeship to Lorroakan and expresses his excitement over having the wizard he looks up to agree to teach him.
Should Rolan survive to join the celebration after the player Defeats the Goblins, he'll be entertaining Cal and Lia with a magic show.
