Elminster can first be found near the entrance to the Shadow-Cursed Lands from Rosymorn Monastery Trail, assuming Gale is still alive and has not left your party. It is also likely that Gale's personal quest The Wizard of Waterdeep must have progressed to the point where his condition is no longer responding to treatment, but this has not been confirmed.

- Elminster is voiced by Crispin Redman, replacing Frank Welker from previous games.
- Elminster's race is human, though in the game he is a Level 1 construct. It's possible that the Elminster we meet in the game is a copy or a simulacrum of the real wizard.
