Invisibility is a level 2 illusion spell. It allows spellcasters to turn themselves and other creatures InvisibleInvisible to the naked eye.

Description

Touch a creature to turn it InvisibleInvisible. Attacks against it have DisadvantageDisadvantage. It attacks with AdvantageAdvantage.

Invisibility ends early if the invisible entity attacks, casts another spell, interacts with an object, takes an action or bonus action, or is damaged.[See Notes]

Condition ends early if the creature attacks or casts a spell.

Notes

  • Actions with the Invisible spell flag can be safely performed without breaking invisibility. These include:
    • Many movement actions, such as DashDash and JumpJump.
    • Using certain items, including potions.
    • Opening most containers without adding or removing anything.
    • Casting certain spells such as Minor IllusionMinor Illusion.
  • Becoming WetWet breaks invisibility.
  • Duergar acquire a cantrip version of this spell at character level 5.
  • Invisibility has two incantations: Evanesco, Latin for "I disappear/vanish", and Invisiblis, Latin for "Invisibility".
