Githzerai are a mentioned race in Baldur's Gate 3.

About githzerai

Githzerai are an ascetic splinter group of gith that now live in the Limbo Plane, after millennia of enslavement by mind flayers.

The Waking Mind of a githzerai can be found at the Mind Flayer Colony, and can be conversed with in that location. It will make a request to the character conversing with it, and will reward a special condition Githzerai Mind Barrier if this request is agreed to. Their brain can also be consumed.
