The Ancient Mausoleum is a Location within the Lower City in Act Three of Baldur's Gate 3. It can be accessed through the mausoleum labelled as Grand Mausoluem in the Graveyard of the Lower City.

The Ancient Mausoleum can be accessed through the Lower City's Graveyard, on its western side at X: -9 Y: 36. It requires either Ancient Mausoleum Key or DC 10 Sleight of Hand Check DC 10 Sleight of Hand Check to open the gate.

The mausoleum consists of two rooms, a main room with a sarcophagus as center piece, and an adjacent one filled with mostly books.

Opening the sarcophagus requires a DC 15 Strength Check DC 15 Strength Check and triggers three hidden (DC 15 Perception Check DC 15 Perception Check) VoidVoid cloud vent traps (DC 10 Dexterity Saving ThrowDC 10 Dexterity Saving Throw) around the room. The sarcophagus contains two identical Grand Mausoleum Offerings Keys, each opening an Opulent Chest on the other side of the room. Without the key, each chest requires a DC 20 Sleight of Hand Check DC 20 Sleight of Hand Check. One chest contains Gold Pile Single Item Image.png gold and a gem, the other contains Gold Pile Single Item Image.png gold and several potions.

In the side room a Crumbling Journal is at X: 1078 Y: 848; it details a mortal's encounter with Jergal. The physical description of Jergal and the question he asks the mortal in the book mirror the appearance of WithersWithers and the party's first encounter with him in the Overgrown Ruins. On a shelf in the back of the room lies a rare Corpse Rose.
