Spoiler warning! This section reveals details about the story of Baldur's Gate 3.
When approached Gerringoithe will quickly demand gold from you. Besides simply attacking her, you can toss her some gold though she will simply demand for more. When asked for a clear price, she will simply demand all your gold. However, if you give her anything short of 5000 gold, she was claim you gave too little and attack. If paid, you will receive the Signed Trade Visa which casts the unique and powerful spell Flesh to Gold along with experience as if you defeat her and her minions. However, considering its a one use item, it is hardly a fair tradeoff.
Instead of paying her, you can instead do a variety of social Skill Cheeks to get past her:
- A Persuasion with a DC 18 will question why she remains when she can take what gold she has and be free. She will be steadfast on her role to collect the gold in the service of the toll.
- Another Persuasion with a DC 21, questioning how she has no one to oversee her duties.
- A Deception with a DC 21, claiming that the local authority has decreed all the gold belongs to her now.
- A Intimidation at a DC 21, bluntly telling her she no longer has a job.
- A Deception with a DC 18, claiming your the new toll master to replace her.
- Another Deception at a DC 21, claiming she's been promoted and moving to a better tollhouse.
- A Persuasion at a DC 21, praising her work and insist you'll take over.
- A Intimidation at a DC 21, threatening her and demanding she leave.
