Beasts are a type of creature found within Baldur's Gate 3. They are non-humanoid, but natural inhabitants of the world and come in many different shapes and sizes.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Most beasts, though not all of them, resemble common animals. Typically, beasts make frequent use of natural weapons like claws, teeth, and horns to inflict

Alioramus[edit | edit source]
Alioramus are a type of dinosaur beast found in the jungles of Chult. They resemble real-life renditions of velociraptors, down to their ability to use claws to attack and legs to pounce on their enemies.

Badgers are burrowing beasts characterized by white stripes, giant claws, and sensitive nose.

Bats are small mammalian beasts that fly mainly at night, and navigate and hunt insects via echolocation.

Birds are winged creatures with feathers and a lightweight body that allow them to fly. They have a hard beak which lets them forage or attack prey.

Boar are the wild cousins of the domesticated pig. They frequently use their tusks to ward off larger creatures or defend territory.

Crabs are multi-legged crustaceans that live in the sea and sport an armoured shell covering their entire body. They have two large claws which they use to defend themselves.

Displacer beast are cat-like, six-legged magical creatures with a pair of tentacles instead of a tail. They can use magic to bend light and create illusions.

Frogs are carnivorous, amphibious creatures that dwell in a variety of climates eating insects. They are characterized by strong hind legs which allow them to leap distances many times its own body length.

Giant Eagle[edit | edit source]
Giant Eagle are large carnivorous birds with much larger wingspans. Unlike regular eagles, Giant Eagles are often as large or larger than humanoids. Though typically not aggressive, they are fiercely defensive of their nests.

Hyena[edit | edit source]
Hyenas are canine-like creatures, but are significantly more feral than dogs. They mostly live in packs to hunt and protect their food.

Rats are small rodent creatures that typically reside in sewers, or places with lots of garbage that can be scavenged for food. Because of this, they can be found in humanoid settlements where there is a ready supply of refuse.

Ravens are relatively larger and more intelligent versions of birds; they have black wings and make a distinctive "caw".
